When it comes to throwdowns, Kyle Gibson against any accomplished hitter is akin to a lyrical battle between your rhythmically challenged dad and Eminem. Unless your pops happens to be Nas or Rakim, it’s a Verzuz episode no sensible person would watch, unless they’re after high comedic value. Arozarena should slam any softball Gibson serves. The Ranger is a groundball-reliant pitcher who’s consistently struggled with his command (5.68 BB/9 in ‘21), which has led myriad power hitters to blast moon shots (1.60 HR/9 in ‘20).  Arozarena, thus far, has proven his storybook 2020 wasn’t a mirage. Featured primarily in the RBI-friendly three spot, he’s collected 11 hits in 38 at-bats, driving in five. After a 1-0 pitcher’s duel between the Rangers and Rays Monday, Gibson’s friendliness should lead to ample opportunities for Tampa’s middle-of-the-order raker. At plus odds, the over is an awfully enticing wager.
