We have finally reached the semi-conclusion of tennis’ 2022 clay court season. I say semi, because while both tours move to grass courts following Roland Garros, there will be clay events mixed with hardcourts during the month of July, before the US Open Series begins.

 

Fortunately, we don’t have to get involved in those tournaments, so for us, this will conclude the clay court portion of 2022. After two decades of utter dominance by Rafael Nadal, we have reached a stage in which serious questions surround his health, and the emergence of the next big Spaniard in men’s tennis in Carlos Alcaraz. Oh, and there’s that Novak Djokovic guy, as well as 2021 finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas, World No. 3 Alexander Zverev, impending World No. 1...
