Below, I will be highlighting free bets for the Fortinet Championship from outside of the outright markets. Hitting winners is fun, but there are plenty of other ways (with less variance) to bet on golf and win some money. If you would like to read about my outright wager for the PGA Tour Championship, you can check out my Tour Championship Betting Preview.

Unfortunately, between writing the article and having it posted, odds do sometimes change. If you’re looking to get alerts when I post my picks, they go up on the FTN Bet Tracker as well as the subscriber Discord

Best Bets for the Fortinet Championship

Here are my best bets for this week's tournament.

Carl Yuan | Top 40

+220, FanDuel Sportsbook

Yuan is making the jump from the Korn Ferry Tour to the PGA Tour this season, and I think this is a solid spot and number. He wasn’t the most consistent golfer as far as results go, but his play remained similar throughout the season – feast or famine. He made 23 starts, 11 of which he finished top 20, seven top 5’s, one victory and 10 missed cuts. A bit all over the place but the upside is clear and when Yuan is clicking, he seems to take advantage. I rated his 2022 KFT season as better than an average PGA golfer so I think he can play at this level it’s just a matter of digging a bit deeper on those week’s where all the cylinders aren’t firing and managing to make a cut and earn money/points. This could just be the type of golfer he is, but I think he can play well at Silverado Resort and hope to catch one of those good weeks.

Ben Griffin | Top 40

+440, FanDuel Sportsbook

Like Yuan, Ben Griffin is making the jump to the PGA Tour this year, but he didn’t have quite the same ending to his season on the KFT. It was a rough go, missing 5/6 cuts to finish the year – the lone made cut was a T4 at the Wyndham Championship on the PGA Tour, and the rest of his made cuts often saw him find the top 20 however the consistency was lacking. He’s a long hitter and shouldn’t need to worry about the rough this week which will help out his approach play. He was a serviceable scrambler on the KFT, which should come in handy, but it will more than likely come down to can he find enough GIR’s to keep him in it. He’s +440 in the market for a reason but I do think it’s steep given his potential and hopefully the conditions think week are as suitable as I believe them to be.
