The Best MLB Props Bets

Tanner Bibee OVER 5.5 K

(-115, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Bibee has had two very solid starts to begin his MLB career. The 24-year-old only allowed one run and he struck out eight over 5.2 innings against the Colorado Rockies in his debut. In his second start, Bibee fanned five over 5.1 innings in New York and the Yankees only managed to score two runs. The Guardians’ pitcher racked up 186 strikeouts in 147 innings across A+, AA and AAA (13 K in 11 AAA innings this season). The K potential is there and he’s in a good spot to add to his early MLB totals.

The Detroit Tigers’ 25.3 K% is the fourth highest mark in baseball and they rank eighth in SwStr% (11.8%). Only Cleveland, Washington and Cincinnati have hit fewer home runs and only Cleveland has a lower wOBA than the Tigers’ .288 showing. They’re slashing .229/.293/.359, and all three of those averages are bottom five marks in the league. Their .293 OBP is dead last.

Zac Gallen OVER 6.5 K

(-112, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Gallen has been pretty much unhittable since he entered the league in 2019. The former Marlin has had a sub 3.00 ERA in three of his four seasons and he carries a 3.04 ERA over his 500 innings. It’s a very small sample size, but he has an impressive 57:5 K:BB over 42.2 innings this season. He had a very rough first two starts this season, and he allowed three runs in his last outing, but Gallen went four straight starts without allowing a run. He only surrendered 11 hits over a string of 26.2 innings where he struck out 41 batters. Gallen has 7+ strikeouts in four of his last five outings and 6+ in six of seven.

One of Gallen’s starts came against Miami and he tossed 6.2 scoreless innings. Miami only mustered two hits and they struck out seven times. Miami has a top-10 strikeout rate.
