Here are my three early best bets for the day’s NBA games.
Best NBA Spread Bet
Denver Nuggets +7.5
I was a little shocked to see the Nuggets a 7.5-point dog against the Milwaukee Bucks. Both teams are very good, but Milwaukee is nowhere near full strength. Giannis Antetokounmpo returned from the injury list a few days ago. With Bobby Portis out, he should play near max minutes. Khris Middleton also returned recently, but they are bringing him along slowly and he is unlikely to play more than half the game here. Without Portis and with Middleton only at half speed, I do not see how you can justify such a big number on the Bucks. Do they deserve to be favored? Probably. Do they deserve to be favored by 3-plus possessions? Definitely not.
Best NBA Assist Prop Bet
T.J. McConnell Under 10.5 Assists
T.J. McConnell has been great the last two games with Tyrese Haliburton out, but this is near the top of his limit. McConnell had 12 assists two games ago, but only 10 in the last game. I say only like 10 is not a big number, but that is why a 10.5 prop number seems high. Things would have to go well for him to hit this. Andrew Nembhard was out last game but is expected back for this one. Even a few less minutes or less time with the ball in his hands could be the difference between an over and McConnell falling just short of this lofty number.
Best NBA Points Prop Bet
Myles Turner Over 15.5 Points
Myles Turner has scored at least 15 points in seven of his last nine games. He averages just 11 field goal attempts on the season but has matched or exceeded that in six of the last seven games. That means he is being relied on more when the Pacers are on the offensive end. It makes sense with Tyrese Haliburton going down that other starters need to pick up their scoring to compensate. Turner is one of those guys who has risen to the challenge.
